We will have no fruit available in 2014 to the public and we do not offer U -Pick. Our orchard of Apples & Peaches was started in 2009. Peaches were produced the first year we have Elberta Peaches, Early Elberta, Ranger, Red Haven, Loring, they are dark red and sweet and juicy and do well in our hot Oklahoma summer, Peaches are ready in July.
Peach tree May 2012
Apples varieties are Gala, Fuji, Red Delicious, Honey crisp and Golden Corsett. We hope to have apples next year 2013. We offer fresh picked fruit at Farmers markets we will have a fruit stand with weekend hours at the farm, we are 20 miles west of Tulsa, Ok. We have lost several young apple trees due to borers.
We maintain chemical free as possible but must spray for bugs from blossom to mid-summer we use pyrethrins: are a pair of natural organic compounds normally derived from Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium that have potent insecticidal activity. We make homemade recipes for spraying the trees, on our orchard for Rust due to the Eastern Red Cedar requires weekly spraying from Spring to Summer, but it is a simple recipe of Baking Soda, veg oil, kelp extract. We use natural compost as fertilizer from our barns.
