Sam a Great Pyrenees about 9 weeks old here. I did a lot of research on LGD before deciding on a GP, although all the breeds had high & low points they all appeared great at Livestock guardians. I finally chose the GP because they have such a great temperment. We also needed more of a Ranch dog then a true LGD that lives out with the livestock on 100 acres or more. We have smaller acreage and closer to the house I want him to watch over everything mostly the goats.
Sam now at 6 months and what a rough winter we have had 2010, Sam just loves cold weather, the colder the better for him. That coat is so thick, I can see why the are well suited for Cold.
Sam below now almost 2 years and on duty I feel for him in the heat 100 degrees and no rain Summer 2011, even though I rake his coat almost daily we had such a hot dry summer I clipped his neck down through his belly for the first time I think it helped cool him.

SORRY, WE DO NOT BREED GREAT PYRENEES, WE HAVE NO PUPPIES.
